I’ve been enjoying the portraits I have to take here at the newspaper. Trying to improve upon many of the shortcomings I have. Trying a lot to let the subjects personality come through and balance that with my vision so they work together rather than having my vision overpower who the person is that is in front of my lens.

Thomas, a writer, who like myself is a somewhat awkward Nebraskan living in Columbia. I felt awkward and I thought he was feeling the same way. He likes to work on his writing in Booches, but since they don’t approve of photography in their bar we went outside.

Anna was quite timid. She’s an artist and I did take images of her with her work, but I loved the vintage wall paper in her dining room and knew I had to make her picture with it.
