Ovid said, “The sharp thorn often produces delicate roses.” And so apparently a stinging wasp produces a delicate nest.
This afternoon I stepped outside to test out a new (to me) lens, a Micro-Nikkor 55mm made in the 1970′s. These older lenses don’t really work well with new DSLR cameras. For instance I bought a K1 extension adapter to put between the lens and my camera body. If I hadn’t the lens could ruin the components of my camera mount. Of course there’s no auto focus and no auto exposure. Over coming those difficulties (which aren’t hard when you’re photographing still life) I found this new lens to be super sharp and already a joy to make images with.
